Vultr is a cloud infrastructure provider founded in 2014. The platform operates data center regions across multiple continents, including North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. Vultr uses KVM-based virtualization and holds compliance certifications including SOC 2, PCI, CSA STAR Level 1, and several ISO standards. Its SLA defines uptime guarantees for both host nodes and the core network.
The compute lineup covers shared and dedicated virtual machines as well as single-tenant bare metal servers. Cloud Compute provides virtual machines on shared AMD and Intel processors, while Optimized Cloud Compute delivers dedicated CPU resources with NVMe SSD storage in configurations tailored to general-purpose, CPU-intensive, memory-intensive, and storage-intensive workloads. Cloud GPU instances, powered by AMD and NVIDIA hardware, are available as virtual machines, bare metal, or cluster-based deployments for AI/ML and high-performance computing workloads, along with a managed inference service for deploying AI models.
Storage services include block storage with HDD and NVMe SSD options and encryption, object storage compatible with the S3 API, and a shared file system for use across compute instances or container environments. Managed database services support PostgreSQL, MySQL, Valkey, and Apache Kafka, with automated backups, updates, and failover handling.
Networking services include virtual private networks with NAT gateways, load balancers, private connectivity options, and a content delivery network. Vultr also supports BGP for custom IP address announcements. The platform includes a managed Kubernetes service and a container registry for application deployment.
The platform supports a range of operating systems, including Linux distributions, Windows, and BSD variants, along with the option to upload custom ISO images. A web-based control panel provides resource management, team access controls, and API integration. Infrastructure can also be managed programmatically through API access and infrastructure-as-code tools.
